Everyone has a goal. It can be work, family, or personal everyone has a goal. In regards to your fitness goals, it can feel like an uphill journey. The reason is our thoughts can be working against us. However, before diving into the subject, let’s talk about loving your body.
Loving yourself is the ability to accept your body as a whole. You only have one body, in which you can choose to treasure or tarnish. How can we achieve our goals if we aren’t happy first? Consequently, It creates a cycle of moving two steps forward and 3 steps backward. Loving your body does not mean you have to love it all the time. Just like how you may not be happy every day. It is a matter of turning the negative into a positive. Now how does this apply to achieving your fitness journey?
Here are my top 4 tips to loving yourself during your journey:
1): Don’t Compare Yourself To Others. The worst thing to do when beginning your journey is to compare yourself to others. For this reason, you cannot compare chapter 1 and the person you compare yourself to could be in their chapter 10. It is very easy to do as we carry around social media in our pockets every day. They had to start somewhere just like you.
2): “Mistakes” Happen. What people see as “mistakes” are going over their macros or missing a gym session. Most importantly, these are not mistakes as one day will not damage your progress. Just jump back into your routine the next day.
3): Be Kind To Yourself. Consequently, it is very easy to pick out your follows. However, take the opportunity to look at yourself in the mirror and say what you love. Even better write them on your mirror so you never forget them!
4): Be Patient! You won’t see results overnight. However, through consistency and patience, your body will change. Just like how one meal won’t break a diet neither will a training session.
Lastly, remember this is a journey with your self. Take the time to appreciate and treasure your mind, body, and soul. It is the most important relationship you’ll ever have. Thank you for reading and I hope these tips help you to achieve your fitness journey!
