CDC Warns of Sickness From Raw Milk Tied to Pennsylvania Farm
Raw milk from a Pennsylvania Amish farm tested positive for bacteria that causes an infectious disease called brucellosis. The CDC warns people who have bought and/or consumed the infected milk in 19 different states. People who have consumed the milk in the last six months are at greater risk of being infected with the disease that is resistant to antibiotics and other treatments.
Flight attendants union warns of possible airport chaos if there’s another shutdown
Sara Nelson, the head of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, warned that if the government shuts down again that her members might have to stop working. Many flights were delayed during the last government shutdown that lasted until Jan. 25. Air traffic controllers did not show up for work and other employees have not received pay since the shutdown.
Texas mom arrested after refusing to treat child’s burns, cops say
A 19-year-old Texas mother, Cybel Menard, was charged with injury to her 1-year-old after admitting she always refuses medical treatment for her baby. Harris County Precinct Four deputies ran a welfare check after a concerned citizen noticed the burns on the baby. The baby suffered from second-degree burns as Menard also admitted prior cigarette burns, and the baby was released to a guardian while Menard was freed on a $15,000 bond.
